Privacy policy

Brickbinder. Last updated 13 October 2026.

Brickbinder does not run an account system. It does not include advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not sell personal information.

Collection data on the device

Sets you mark owned or wished for, quantities, condition, notes, and tags are stored on your device. A backup file is written only when you export or import. Import writes a local JSON backup first, on the device.

iCloud

The collection is built so it can sync through your personal iCloud account, which Apple operates. Brickbinder does not receive that data and does not run a server for it. In this build, iCloud sync is not switched on. It stays off until an iCloud container is attached to the app. When that is turned on, the records sync as part of your iCloud account under Apple’s terms, not under an account you create with Brickbinder.

Camera

The scanner uses the camera only while it is open, to read set numbers from a box or booklet. Apple’s on-device text recognition does the reading. No camera images are saved or sent anywhere.

Catalogue photos

The set catalogue is stored on the device. When photos are enabled, opening a set or minifig requests that image from Rebrickable’s image host (cdn.rebrickable.com) and the device may keep a copy in its cache. The image request does not include your collection. Brickbinder does not download the image archive in advance.

Photos can be turned off in the catalogue manifest the app checks for updates. This device can also hide them from Settings. While they are hidden, the app does not request those images.

Purchases

Pro is a one-time unlock sold by Apple. Apple processes the payment. Brickbinder does not receive your card number. Restoring purchases asks Apple whether this Apple ID already bought Pro. Apple’s privacy policy covers that transaction.

Catalogue data

Names, years, piece counts, themes, and minifig lists come from Rebrickable’s downloadable catalogue. Set, theme, minifig, and inventory data is sourced from Rebrickable® (rebrickable.com/downloads).

Brickbinder is not sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by Rebrickable Pty Ltd or the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this app.

What this policy does not cover

Rebrickable’s own site and image host, Apple’s App Store, and iCloud are separate services. Their policies apply when your device contacts them.
